Vesper – Cocktail Bar

A small cocktail bar on a street corner

What an awesome find by someone on a tour of mine. A coctail bar called Vesper, so tucked away I have never stumbled across it.  There is a very interesting offer of cocktails on their quirky menu including beer-based and wine-based cocktails and ingredients as unusual as BBQ sauce!  Of course, they can also make whatever you like.  I tried the…

Rum Diary.. “HSE Saint Etienne rum with D.O.M. Benedictine freshly squeezed lime juice and a drop of homemade orange clove shrub”

Bromance… “Monkey Shoulder whiskey with St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and topped with Mannenliefde white beer from the Oedipus brewery”

Mrs. Smith… “Ocho Blanco Tequila, Chartreuse V.E.P., cloudy apple juice, homemade kaffir lime syrup, Granny Smith apple puree and a dash of freshly squeezed lime juice”

Casablanca… “Leblon cachaça, homemade kaffir lime syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice and a drop of Absinthe”

The bar is small and intimate with some, I think excellent, rules:

“A bar is a place where people meet, socialize, laugh, enjoy, savor, fall in love, relax, and drink.  So please keep your smartphones in your pocket.

If you want to use your laptop, go to the coffee company at the end of the street.

If you want to charge anything (why would you?) you can only use the power sockets above you.  If you can reach them… don’t bother.”

PS you don’t come here to save money, the cocktails cost around €15 but they are delicious and do the job nicely! Prices updated November 2024

Opening times: Wednesday to Saturday, 6pm to 1am or 2am
