See the Tulips in Bloom

Join us in Amsterdam and explore Keukenhof Gardens and its millions of beautiful flowers. This is an event you don’t want to miss, as Keukenhof Garden is only open for several weeks each year. This floral display is spectacular and a must-see for anyone visiting Amsterdam.

  • Leave Amsterdam by 8.30 am in an air-conditioned minivan, we depart early enough to see the morning dew on the tulips (and daffodils and hyacinths and more…)
  • We provide you with a recommended walking route of the gardens based on what is looking best and give you just under 3 hours to explore at your leisure
  • After the gardens we whisk you, literally off the beaten track, to a quaint restaurant on the edge of a nature reserve, frequented mainly by locals – echte Nederlanders – for a hearty pancake lunch.
  • After lunch we head North to the Beemster area to visit tulip fields finding picture postcard photo opportunities
  • We round off the day with a visit an almost 400 year old windmill set in lovely countryside. If there is wind it  will be pumping water.  We guide you through the mill and show you how it works.
  • And then back to Amsterdam and you’ll have ticked quite a few things off your bucket list on one of our tulip tours.

Must do! Keukenhof Tulip  tour – Review from Tripadvisor May 6, 2019 by DP4275

This is THE tour company to use in Amsterdam. I strongly recommend this tour company. I only wish that I had booked one of the other tours during the trip! We spent a wonderful day with Mark exploring the Keukenhof Tulip Gardens along with a stop to see tulip fields and a windmill in Haarlem. Plus we were treated to a traditional Dutch pancake lunch. It was clear from the very first communication that Marl’s goal was to create a memorable experience. And he exceeded all our expectations! Every detail of the day was planned – even down to providing a map for the garden with a route through the gardens already marked. I also really liked that the tour groups are small (max 8 people) which meant a level of personalization that makes for a great experience. Mark took the time to ensure that every guest was comfortable and enjoying the trip. It is clear that Mark takes great pride in his work and that means a great experience for customers.

The BEST Keukenhof and tulip fields tour – Review from Tripadvisor May 1, 2019 by MiaView

This was my second time doing a tour with That Dam Guide and there’s a reason I went back for more. Mark leads fantastic small group tours that leave you entertained as well as educated. I loved having the time to explore alone at Keukenhof and then meeting back up with the group to take some photos in front of the local tulip fields. (Mark has great suggestions for locations and poses that make a beautiful photo memory.) Lunch with the group was delicious and perfectly timed before heading to Haarlem to learn about and explore a windmill. You won’t get the above experience on the large bus tours. Highly recommend Mark and That Dam Guide!!

Perfect Tulips tour – Review from Tripadvisor April 10, 2018 by nabilvooradus

Well, we took That Dam Guide’s tulips tour and it was pitch perfect: Small-group tour, just eight of us in the van, and our guide Rory was charming and well-informed. We got three hours in Keukenhof gardens themselves, which felt like the perfect amount of time. After that we went for a pancake lunch in a completely charming and “off the beaten track” pancake house, visited a windmill in Haarlem and wound down with a nice cup of coffee in Haarlem’s central square.

My wife and I really love the sociable nature of the tour, it was paced to perfection and we just really enjoyed ourselves.

A wonderful day out in the countryside – Review from Tripadvisor April 30, 2017 by judinewyork

We took the “Tulips with Rory” tour in April. It was amazing! Rory was so informative, friendly and attentive, it was more like traveling with a new friend than with a tour guide. Our tour started promptly, and our meeting point was easy to find (thanks to the provided map). Our tour allowed us to walk right into Keukenhof gardens. Three hours in the gardens was almost not enough, but we had lots more adventure in our tour to accomplish. The tulip fields Rory took us to where perfect for photos, plus we got to watch workers in the field. Our included lunch at a pancake house had a kink, but Rory without hesitation adjusted our meal plan and took us to a wonderful waterside restaurant near the windmill we toured. The windmill tour was so interesting, and being able to reach the top gave us some lovely views. Our stop in town gave us an opportunity to explore another lovely area. When I return to Amsterdam, I’m planning on booking every tour “That Dam Guide” offers! Just wish they had an evening introduction walk, something that I could do after arriving.
