Private Amsterdam Walking Tours

No fixed route, no script. We start at your hotel or an agreed meeting point and the tour shapes itself around where you are and what you want to get out of it.

Most groups go for three hours. Add a fourth hour to push into the Jordaan and Western Canal Belt in more detail.

SIZE: 8 people max, so you and plus up to 7 of your friends, no strangers in the group

COST: 230.00 euros for your group for a 3 hour tour (bestseller)

DURATION: 3 hours (you can add a 4th hour for an extra 75.00 euros)

START TIMES: 9am / 10am / 2pm

START POINT: Anywhere central, usually your hotel

Private Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum Tour

The tour starts with an overview of Vincent’s life and then we follow his story through his different periods, seeing his art as well as the paintings of those who influenced him. It is possible to do both the Van Gogh Tour and the Rijksmuseum Tour one after the other with a lunch break in between.

SIZE: 4 people max, so you and up to 3 of your friends

COST: There is a base cost of 200.00 euros for a 2 hour tour

and then add the ticket price per person:

Adult tickets cost 25.00 euros

Under 18s enter free

DURATION: 2 hours

START TIMES: 9am onwards up to 2 hours before closing time – which varies

START POINT: At the Van Gogh Museum

Private Amsterdam Rijksmuseum Tour

This tour covers the rise of the Dutch Republic, 80 Year War and the Dutch ‘Golden Age’, and includes the Gallery of Honour. We see both early and later Rembrandts, the Vermeers, the Nightwatch. The tour wraps up in the late 1600s with dolls houses and Delftware of William and Mary. It is possible to do both the Rijks and the Van Gogh Museum tour one after the other with a lunch break in between.

SIZE: 4 people max, so you and up to 3 of your friends.

COST: There is a base cost of 200.00 euros for a 2 hour tour

and then add ticket the price per person:

DURATION: 2 hours

START TIMES: 9am is best to see the Gallery of Honour without crowds. But any time up to 2:30pm is possible.

Private Amsterdam Countryside & Windmill Tour

Join me for the most authentic day out in Dutch countryside avoiding tourist traps. There are 2 versions of this tour: one where we visit Monnickendam and the other where we visit Edam. Monnickendam is my favourite as it is SO authentic and also in Monnickendam we have excellent apple pie. Edam is perhaps better if you have kids along.

The price has a bunch of variables:

First the base cost of the tour depends on the rental vehicle

SIZE & COST: 1 – 3 people: The vehicle is a medium sized car like a Ford Focus or similar: 600.00 euros. (For an extra 50.00 euros you can upgrade the vehicle to an SUV like a BMW X1 or a MAZDA CX5)

SIZE & COST: 4 to 8 people: The vehicle is a Mercedes Vito Tourer Minivan: 650.00 euros

IF YOU CHOOSE THE MONNICKENDAM VERSION

Then add 30.00 euros per person for entrance entrance fees and apple pie & coffee in Monnickendam

IF YOU CHOOSE THE EDAM VERSION:

Then add 15.00 per person for entrance fees (there is no apple pie & coffee included in the Edam version)

If you have children below the age of 12 years then you must let us know at the time of booking so that the correct child seats can be arranged.

Private Amsterdam to Keukenhof Gardens & Tulip Fields Tour

I guide you through the gardens for 3 hours and then visit flower fields in bloom for lots of photos then stop for a pancake lunch in a lovely tucked away locals’ favourite.

First the base cost of the tour depends on the rental vehicle

SIZE & COST: 1 – 3 people: The vehicle is a medium sized car 600.00 euros

SIZE & COST: 4 – 8 people: The vehicle is a Mercedes Vito Tourer Minivan 650.00 euros

Then add 25.00 euros per person

DURATION: 6 hours

START TIME: 9am

START POINT: Usually your hotel

Full Tour Description: Private Keukenhof Gardens Touri

Private Amsterdam Red Light District Tour

We meet at a cafe first, talk about the area and then walk through the district to the Red Light Secrets, ex-brothel museum. I show you around the ‘museum’ and then walk through more the the district to another cafe and talk about other aspects of the area and industry.

SIZE: 2 people

COST: 275.00 euros for 2 people, including entrance to Red Light Secrets Brothel Museum

DURATION: About 2 hours

START TIME: 8 or 9pm

START POINT: Near Central Station

DAYS: No tours on the weekend, the area is too busy.
