Loetje Centraal Station €€

Food at Loetje Centraal Station

Brilliant to find that the quality of steak is the same here as at the original Cafe Loetje near the museums.  Loetje Centraal Station could not be easier to find, it is in the pretty white building directly opposite the main entrance to Central Station, about 20 meters walk.  There is a wide long terrace with a lovely view.

The steak was superb. I went for the large one as I am a bit of a piggywig for a good steak.  It comes with a swirl of ‘jus’ around it, a sauce that is tasty and, I think butter based. It is wonderful with both the steak and the fries. The serving portion of fries and salad were enough to feed 3 people so great value. I think the very spicy Bali sauce option kills the steak so would recommend the basic steak with the delicious jus.

I was also really thrilled to find that they have Brugse Zot on tap, rare to find that in Amsterdam.  Brugse Zot is my favorite blond beer from Bruges and perfect with steak and fries!

This place is big and busy and the waitresses were efficient but slightly overworked, so if you want personal service maybe this is not the place for you.

Prices: large steak €25, regular €17.  salad €4.75, fries €3.40.

Kitchen Open: 7 days a week, 8am to 10.30pm.

They have the option of reserving online but also keep tables so you can just turn up.

For groups of 8 and over ring them on  +31 20 62 33 777

I’ve not tried their breakfast or lunch options.  If anyone does then please let me know what you thought of it.
